How bookings work

1. Register your details

You must register in our booking system to reserve an e-bike. Register by clicking this Register link or going to the top right hand corner of this booking site. We will need your name and address for registration - you will be sent a confirmation email to your inbox to complete registration.

2. Reserve an e-bike

Once you have registered, you can reserve an e-bike for 1 week on our e-bike booking service - take a look through our available e-bikes here to reserve one (this list will grow over time!).

Once you have reserved the e-bike you want we will make sure there is someone free to come and meet you for your preferred pick-up and drop-off times, and be in touch to arrange a pick-up.

You will get a confirmation email from us once your e-bike is reserved, and a reminder email 1 day before our agreed pick up time and place.

If you need an e-bike for a different number of days to our standard 1 week offer, please contact your nearest Hub directly so they can check what’s available for you. Please see the Locations page for direct contact details for each Hub.

Loans are only possible for up to 14 days per e-bike so we can maximise their use and availability to the whole community.

3. Pay the reservation fee / donation

At reservation, we will charge a reservation fee / donation to your account. This reservation fee / donation can be returned to you once you have safely returned the e-bike, and is rated at £10 / day, £50 / week or £80 / fortnight.

Please pay this fee ahead of your pick-up date or we will be unable to lend you the e-bike. We take payment on our website, which you can easily complete by logging into your account and following payment instructions.

You will be able to request your reservation fee back after safe return of the e-bike (plus accessories) should you need to. All money generated through the reservation fee / donation will be held by Transition Stroud and put towards the cost of running the e-bike Hubs, and will enable more people to benefit from using the e-bike, as you have.

4. Pick-up

  • Please remember to pay your reservation fee / donation in advance of pick-up or we will not be able to loan the e-bike out to you.
  • You must also bring a form of photo ID and proof of address at pick-up so we can make sure we know who we are loaning the e-bikes to.

Unfortunately, without these things we won’t be able to loan you the e-bike. Our full terms and conditions are here.

Lateness and damage

In order to make sure the e-bikes are available to as many people as possible, we charge a late fee of £20 for each day the e-bike or its accessories is overdue by. This charge is not returnable.

If either the e-bike or its accessories are damaged or lost under your care, and you have not taken reasonable safety precautions, we may charge you for their repair or replacement. It is therefore extremely important that you read our e-bike user manual before using one of our e-bikes.

Our e-bikes are covered by theft insurance but only if they are kept safely and securely locked while you are not with them, so please make sure they are locked securely to an immovable object when out of your sight.

Re-booking

We prioritise new users for our e-bikes so as many people as possible get the chance to loan one out. But if you would like to book again, please do get in touch with your nearest Hub and they will let you know if one of their e-bikes becomes available last minute.
